Step 5D: Livestock

Domestic livestock, and their level of integration within the rest of the farming system are represented on the diagram.

Domestic livestock may roam over different land use categories, or be housed and fed material grown on different types of land or imported from outside the system. In this way the transfer of resources may be effected amongst land use categories (Sinclair, 1999).
